Desert Opals and Fine Jewelry (“Desert Opals,” “we,” “us”) operates desertopalsjewelry.com and a retail shop at 2501 Sudderth Dr, Ste E, Ruidoso, NM 88345. What we collect
- Order information: name, billing and shipping address, email, phone number, and the items you buy.
- Account information: if you create an account, your login details and order history.
- Messages and forms: anything you send through our contact form or by email.
- Payment information: payments are processed by our payment partners (WooPayments and PayPal online, and Clover in our shop). We do not see or store your full card number.
- Technical information: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and referring site, collected through cookies and similar tools.
How we use it
- To process and ship orders, handle returns, and answer your questions.
- To prevent fraud and spam (our checkout and forms use Google reCAPTCHA).
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
- To send you email about new pieces and offers, only if you opt in. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
Who we share it with
We share information only as needed to run the store:
- Payment processors (WooPayments, PayPal, Clover) to take payment.
- Shipping carriers to deliver your order.
- Our website host and email provider (Hostinger) to run the site and send email.

Cookies and tracking
We use cookies to keep your cart and login working, and to measure traffic (Google Analytics through Google Site Kit). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the cart and checkout may not work without essential cookies. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on.
Email and text messages
We send marketing email only to people who sign up. We do not currently send marketing text messages. If that changes, we will ask for your separate consent first, and you will be able to reply STOP at any time.
How long we keep it
We keep order records as long as needed for accounting, tax, and legal purposes, and keep other information only as long as it is useful for the purposes above.
Your choices
You may ask us to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to remove you from our email list, by emailing info@desertopalsjewelry.com. We will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to keep some records (for example, past orders) where the law requires.
Security
Our site uses SSL encryption and our payment partners handle card data under industry security standards. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Our site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Links to other sites
Our site may link to other websites, such as payment pages and social media. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
